Deputy President Kithure Kindiki will today inspect the ongoing construction works of the 749-km Isiolo-Mandera road.

One of the most crucial developments is progress on the 140-kilometer El Wak–Rhamu section, supported by a Sh27.5 billion ($215 million) loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB).

This portion of the project had previously faced delays due to security concerns but has now resumed following the implementation of a detailed security plan by the government.

He will thereafter officially launch the Second Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP II).

KDSP II, is a four-year a World Bank-funded program that aims to strengthen governance systems, enhance institutional capacity and improve service delivery at the county level.

The Program supports reforms under the government’s devolution sector plan.

The State Department for Devolution is the coordinating agency, working in collaboration with other implementing agencies.

The event to be attended by governors will be held at Enashipai resort, Nakuru County.

MPs to meet Interior CS, Police bosses over recruitment

National Assembly’s Administration and Internal Security Committee will hold a meeting with the Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, National Police Service and National Police Service Commission and Independent Policing Oversight Authority regarding recruitment of police officers.

The meeting comes in the wake of a budget cut of Sh320 million from its budget.

The commission is planning to recruit 10, 000 officers in the next budget.

CS Wahome to visit Mukuru estate

Lands, Housing and Public Works Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome will be at New Mukuru Boma Yangu Estate as home owners continue moving into their new homes.

She will thereafter address the media on a variety of issues on Affordable Housing at the Mukuru Met Social Housing site (Along Road A, off Enterprise Road) from 11am.

MPs to meet HOPS over illegal gaming activities

The National Assembly's Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture is scheduled to hold a meeting with Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei to apprise the Committee on the mushrooming of illegal gaming activities.

Betting Control and Licensing Board CEO Peter Mbugi will also attend the meeting.

Air accidents regulations, 2024

The Committee on Delegated Legislation will hold a meeting with Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir regarding the Civil Aviation (Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation) Regulations, 2024.
