President William Ruto has presided over the launch of Sh950 million compensation payments for victims of human-wildlife conflict.

In a tweet on X, the President stated that they are streamlining compensation for human-wildlife conflict to restore dignity and deliver justice to our communities on the frontline of the much-needed conservation.

"We are therefore allocating sufficient resources to pay pending claims, deploying technology to eliminate inefficiencies, and operationalising the Wildlife Conservation Trust Fund, a sustainable financing vehicle supported by innovative funding mechanisms," he said.
