Established in December 2016, The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI), is dedicated to assisting governments and leaders worldwide in implementing transformative policies and strategies.
Its operations are supported by a mix of philanthropic donations and advisory service revenues, notable among them the Larry Ellison Foundation.
Recognising the transformative power of technology, TBI assists governments in leveraging digital tools to improve public service delivery and policy outcomes.
This includes advising on digital identification systems and the adoption of artificial intelligence in governance.

TBI also advocates for innovative approaches to climate change, emphasising the need for accelerated technological solutions such as carbon capture and storage.
The institute calls for a reset in climate action to address the limitations of current policies and to harness technological advancements effectively.
Through strategic and policy implementation support, the institute aims to build more open, inclusive, and prosperous societies by collaborating with political leaders to enhance governmental effectiveness, particularly in fragile and developing states.
Through initiatives like Generation Global, TBI further works to combat extremism by addressing its ideological roots and promoting intercultural understanding among youth and engages with leaders in the Middle East to support peace processes and economic development in regions such as the West Bank and Gaza.
