Deputy President Kithure Kindiki will today, May 21, take his development tour to Isiolo.

He will inspect the construction of an Electricity power plant in Merti, Isiolo North and commission a last-mile power substation in Rapsu in Isiolo South, where he will also issue compensation cheques for Human Wildlife conflict victims.

He will then preside over an economic empowerment forum for small-scale traders in Lari, Kiambu County.

NCIC press briefing

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) is set to address the media today.

The press briefing is on the state of peace and cohesion in the country.

It will be held at its offices, Britam Tower, Upper Hill.

NCIC chairperson Samuel Kobia is expected to address issues surrounding the recent statements by some politicians, which have raised concerns among some Kenyans.

This includes that which was made by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua regarding the 2027 general election.

Kenya Prisons boss to appear before Senate committee

The Senate Committee on Cohesion and Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration is scheduled to meet the Kenya Prisons Service boss.

The deliberations will be on the representation of Kenya’s diversity in the staff composition in the service.

The meeting will be in parliament.

Gakuyo case


The hearing of the case where televangelist David Ngari alias Gakuyo is charged with Sh1.3 billion fraud resumes today at the Milimani Chief Magistrate's court.


The case failed to proceed on Tuesday, May 20, after the court was informed that a key witness who was scheduled to testify was attending a workshop in Mombasa.


The hearing was adjourned to today, May 21, to allow the prosecution to prepare for the other two witnesses lined up to give their testimonies.


Gakuyo was in February 2024 charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and 12 counts of obtaining money by false pretence.
