Six shortlisted for KNCHR Chairperson post

    Six candidates have been shortlisted for the position of Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.

    The selection panel Chairperson, Dr. Irene Asienga, in an advert, said the six were shortlisted from a list of 17 candidates who applied for the position.

    The shortlisted candidates are Victor Okoth Ogwang Lando (Nakuru), Selina Amsugut Iseme, Claris Awour Ogangah, Edward Katama Ngeywa (Trans Nzoia), Duncan Oburu Ojwang (Homa Bay) and Michael Peter Otieno Okelloh (Siaya).

    “The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at Harambee House, 12th Floor Boardroom, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, on the date and time indicated on the schedule. The candidates should be at the venue at least thirty (30) minutes before the starting time,” Asienga said.

    When appearing for interviews, the shortlisted candidates will be required to have a National Identity Card/Passport, Academic and Professional Certificates and Transcript and any other supporting documents and testimonials.

    Also required are valid clearances from the Higher Education Loans Board, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the registered Credit Reference Bureau and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance).

    The shortlisted candidates should also have a Self-Declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a Recommendation letter from the relevant professional bodies and associations (where applicable).

    “Canvassing for this position will lead to automatic disqualification,” Asienga warned.

    The selection panel has also invited members of the public to submit their views regarding the shortlisted candidates.

    “Members of the public are invited to avail any credible Information of interest relating to any of the shortlisted candidates (through sworn affidavits) to the Chairperson, Selection Panel for the Nominees for Appointment as Chairperson, Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, Harambee House 12th Floor Boardroom, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi or e-mailed to [email protected] so as to be received on or before 5.00 p.m. 26 May, 2025,” Asienga stated.
