Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has called for the immediate release and accountability in the cases of two men who were reportedly abducted.

The two-Abdullahi Bosso and Ali Godana-are said to have been abducted in separate incidents under mysterious and alarming circumstances.

In a statement, the governor expressed concern over the disappearance of Godana, the acting Director of Revenue at the county.

Godana, according to him, was taken by unknown individuals at 5pm last Saturday outside his home.

This followed the abduction of Bosso by people he claimed to be security agencies on Friday, May 9, 2025, along the Kinna-Kulamawe road.

The incident is said to have occurred around 1pm.

The whereabouts of the duos, he stated, remain unknown, with their families now in agony as they have not received any formal communication from authorities regarding their status or location.

“These are not isolated incidents,” Guyo said.

“They represent a worrying pattern of enforced disappearances that threaten the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of all Kenyans.”

While pointing a finger at security officers, Guyo termed this a direct contradiction of President William Ruto’s public assurances on abductions.

“Such actions directly contradict President William Ruto’s public assurance that his administration will neither tolerate nor engage in abductions,” he stated.

Guyo demanded that Bosso be released immediately or presented before a court of law, in line with the constitutional guarantee of due process.

He also urged authorities to disclose the whereabouts and condition of Godana, emphasising that families and the public have a right to know the fate of their loved ones.

This, as he called on human rights groups, independent oversight bodies, and concerned citizens to stand up against such injustices and ensure that the rule of law prevails.

“Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done,” he affirmed.
