Slain Kasipul MP Ong'ondo Were has been laid to rest.
The burial ceremony was graced by notable political figures, led by the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and other leaders from the region were also present.
Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and his Treasury counterpart John Mbadi were also present.
The political leaders respected the late Were’s wish of being laid to rest as a party member by dressing in ODM-themed attire.
The burial ceremony was held in Kachien, Homa Bay, on May 9, 2025.
Were was gunned down in Nairobi on April 30 by unknown assailants riding on a motorcycle near the City Mortuary roundabout at around 7:30 pm.
