President William Ruto returns to Narok County on Wednesday for the second day of his development tour across the region, focusing on key infrastructure and community projects aimed at boosting economic growth and service delivery.
On Tuesday, the president was in the county before crossing over to Migori County, where he had camped since Sunday to conclude a busy day of engagements.
His visit today covers three constituencies, each with significant milestones for the local residents.
In Emurua Dikirr Constituency, Ruto is set to issue title deeds to local landowners, a move expected to enhance land security and unlock opportunities for agricultural development in the area.
He will also officially launch the Sh1.2 billion Gorgor-Shartuka-Njipiship-Olchobosei road, a critical link designed to improve connectivity with the neighbouring counties of Bomet, Nyamira and Kisii and while also facilitating trade.
The road covers 19 kilometres, divided into three phases of Shartuka-Njipiship (9km), Njipiship-Olochobsei-Abossi (7.5 km) and Abossi-Gorgor (2.5km).
Over in Narok South Constituency, he will preside over the launch of the newly upgraded Sogoo Level 4 Hospital.
The upgraded facility, done at a cost of Sh200 million, is expected to bring advanced healthcare services closer to the people who, for several years, had to travel to Longisa referral hospital in Bomet.
The facility includes a maternity wing, dialysis centre, modern laboratory, male and female wards, pediatric ward and a morgue.
Its construction started in January.
Additionally, he will open the Amalo Sub-County offices, aimed at improving administrative efficiency and service delivery.
Ruto will also inaugurate the Sogoo-Melelo-Lulunga Road, further strengthening the transport network in the constituency.
In Narok West Constituency, the president’s itinerary includes an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Deputy County Commissioner’s offices.
He will also launch the Ngosuani-Naikarra-Morijoi Road, a key infrastructural project meant to enhance accessibility in the largely rural area.
Residents of Enkoireroi and Olderkesi will receive their long-awaited title deeds, a development expected to resolve historical land ownership issues.
To support local artisans and promote cultural heritage, the Head of State will also launch the Sekenani Bead production centre.
