Several football fans have reportedly been injured after Gor Mahia and Shabana FC supporters started engaging in stone throwing at the Gusii Stadium.

The fans clashed ahead of the much-awaited game at the Gusii Stadium, which was scheduled to start at 2 pm.

In a video seen by the Star, some of the fans could be seen throwing stones while others tried to scamper for safety.

The chaos erupted from two stands at the regular section housing fans from both teams when they started pelting stones at each other, leaving scores with injuries.

Some of the fans were also seen making their way onto the football pitch.

Efforts by the Stadium announcers to request the fans to remain calm were futile, as they continued throwing stones.

They continued to make repeated appeals for calm before urgently requesting ambulances to transport the injured to nearby medical facilities.

"Our fans, let's settle down and remain calm situation is being handled," one of the announcers was heard saying.

As the chaos continues, security personnel were seen trying to control the situation.

The stadium was filled to the brim by 11:30 am, hours before kickoff.
