Nakuru Senator Tabitha Keroche has come out strongly to refute speculations alleging that she is unwell and hospitalised in London.

This was after reports recently circulated on social media stating that she was sick and was being attended to in the UK.

But in a public statement on Friday on her social media handle, she denied those claims terming them as “fake news” and clarified that though she was indeed in London, she was on a brief vacation owing to a short recess by the Senate that began on April 18.

“I have taken this opportunity to step away from my busy schedule for a brief vacation here in London. I am in excellent health, full of energy, and fully prepared to resume my oversight duties next week,” she stated.

“I thank God I am not sick, I am not in hospital, and I have not been hospitalised.”

The Senator blamed a smear-coordinated campaign of “baseless and unfounded rumours” on certain paid bloggers and social media influencers.

“I strongly urge these individuals to stop spreading misinformation. Such baseless and unfounded rumours have caused unnecessary concern and panic among the people of Nakuru County,” the senator said.

She condemned what she termed as a "misuse of resources" by her critics to spread misinformation, arguing that they should instead be directed toward development projects that benefit the residents of the county.

She further lashed out at individuals who wish others' terminal illness for what she said was political gain, calling such actions inhumane and reprehensible.

Senator Tabitha reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the constitutional responsibilities of oversight and accountability.

“No amount of intimidation will deter me from executing my roles in oversight, representation, and legislation. I also take this opportunity to strongly condemn those who wish others a terminal illness for political gain. Such acts are inhumane, deeply saddening, and have no place in a civilized society," she stated.

"Thank you, and may God bless the great people of Nakuru County."
