WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TEACHER REGISTRATION IN KENYA

If you're planning to join the teaching profession in Kenya, registering with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is a legal requirement—no one can teach without it.

The process, guided by the TSC Act (2012) and the Constitution of Kenya (2010), ensures that only qualified and vetted individuals enter the classroom.

HOW TO REGISTER

Teacher registration is done online via the TSC portal: www.teachersonline.go.ke.

Applicants must upload the necessary documents and pay a non-refundable registration fee of Sh1,055, payable via the National Bank of Kenya or Pay Bill Number 625625.

The Commission vets each application and responds within 30 days.

TSC ensures that each applicant has been tested on core units in universities and colleges.

Successful applicants receive a registration certificate bearing the TSC CEO’s signature, which is sent to the address provided.
