In Summary
National Assembly is today set to hold its special sitting. Speaker Moses Wetang’ula convened the sitting last week through a notice.
Among the main businesses to be transacted is the consideration of a report on the vetting of three new cabinet secretaries.
The three are Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui and William Kabogo- have already been vetted.
The sittings will be held in the morning and afternoon.
KTDA press briefing
The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) chairman Enos Njeru is set to address the media today.
He will state the alleged political interference in the management of Smallholder Tea factories in the country.
The event is set for 11 am.
Ruling on presidential Health Audit Taskforce
A high court in Nairobi is today expected to render its decision on a case challenging the establishment of the Presidential taskforce on addressing human resources for health.
Justice Bahati Mwamuye in July 2024 suspended the gazette notice establishing the task force pending determination of the case filed by the Law Society of Kenya.
He further stopped the respondents from implementing the President LS executive order pending the determination of the matter.
President William Ruto, through a gazette notice dated 5th July, said that the establishment of the task force on human resources for health was deemed necessary to formulate comprehensive strategies and policies to enhance the health care services in the country.
He appointed Khama Rogo the chairperson and Judith Guserwa the vice Chairperson of the task force.
