In the wake of the devastating wildfires currently raging through Los Angeles in the US, several high-profile celebrities have found themselves among the victims.

While some have lost homes, others have lost valuable property worth millions of dollars to the destructive flames.

Several well-known figures have publicly shared their heartbreaking stories and the overwhelming impact of the disaster.

They include Miles Teller, best known for his role in Top Gun: Maverick, and his wife, Keleigh Sperry who reportedly lost their home in the Pacific Palisades.

Posting on Instagram, Sperry shared a picture of the fires and a broken heart emoji.

According to a report by BBC, actor James Woods, who starred in films including Nixon and Casino lost his Pacific Palisades property.

"One day you're swimming in the pool and the next day it's all gone," he is reported to have told CNN in an interview.

This, is as he described how his wife's eight-year-old niece offered them her piggybank to help rebuild their house.

More than 1,100 buildings have been destroyed as six separate blazes burn in and around the city, which is dotted with film stars' mansions.

Six people are said to have been killed.

Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Adam Brody are also said to have lost their homes.

Hilton, a media personality, businesswoman,  model, singer and actress narrated how she lost her home in Malibu.

"Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” she wrote on Instagram.

"This home is where we built so many precious memories... My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires."

Actor Crystal said in a statement that he and his wife Janice were "heartbroken" by the loss of their Pacific Palisades home where they had lived since 1979.

Crystal who is a star in “The When Harry Met Sally” said they raised their children and grandchildren in the home.

"Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away,” he said.

"We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this."

Brody who stars in hit Netflix show Nobody Wants This, and Gossip Girl star wife Leighton Meester, is also said to have had his home destroyed.

Others who have been affected by the inferno are Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag who are married, TV host Ricki Lake and John Goodman.

Actors Anna Faris, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Cary Elwes also reportedly lost their homes.
