Police in Lugari, Uasin Gishu county are hunting for a man suspected of defiling his 13-year-old daughter.
According to police, the mother of the victim noticed the daughter had difficulty walking.
Upon interrogating her, she disclosed that her father had defiled her on October 10.
Police say the suspect allegedly asked the victim not to report the incident.
A day later, the mother confronted her husband about the incident.
He, however, reacted violently and allegedly forced her out of their house.
They had to seek refuge at her friend's house, police said.
On October 12, she made a report at Turbo Police Station on the incident.
The victim was taken for medical attention at Turbo sub-county hospital.
“The suspect is still at large,” police said.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect whom they seek to arrest and present in court.
Meanwhile in Nyawita sub-location, Siaya County, a couple is counting losses after a gang robbed them of household items.
According to police, Rachael Odhiambo, and her boyfriend John Rodgers both 22 years old, were sleeping when three men armed with pangas and crude weapons broke into their house.
Police say upon gaining entry, they attacked Rodgers by cutting him on his head and lower chin sustaining injuries.
The gang robbed them of two mobile phones make Samsung Galaxy, a TV set, shoes, and some assorted house items, police said.
The two students are fourth-year students in Jaramogi Oginga Oginga and reside within the Oji estate, police said.
Police say the perpetrators are yet to be arrested.
The victim was rushed to Bondo sub-county hospital where he was admitted but in stable condition.
Officers from Bondo police station visited the scene and processed it.
Search for the suspects is ongoing.
