The findings of National Crime Research Centre showed that most incidents of livestock rustling and banditry were likely to happen on Sundays (36.9 per cent), Saturdays (30.2 per cent) and Fridays (21.8 per cent).
Sunday, Saturday and Friday were the days of the week when most incidents of livestock rustling and banditry were likely to occur in 11 out of 13 counties (that is, 84.6 per cent of the counties), that is, in all the counties except in Kisumu and Tana River counties which experienced most of the incidents mainly on Thursdays and Mondays respectively.
Out of the 11 counties, 5 had most incidents happening on Sundays (that is, Baringo, Meru, Samburu, Laikipia and Elgeyo Marakwet counties), 3 had them on Saturdays (that is, Turkana West Pokot, Marsabit and Kitui counties) and 2 had them on Fridays (that is, Isiolo and Nandi counties).
