Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza was impeached by the county assembly for the third time, with 49 MCAs voting for her ouster.
During the voting, three MCAs did not vote, while 17 others voted against the impeachment motion.
Only 2 governors, Mike Sonko of Nairobi and Ferdinand Waititu of Kiambu as well as Kisii Deputy Governor Robert Monda were successfully removed from office.
