DaVinci Gourmet, a global giant in the beverage industry, has launched its first-ever Barista Craft Championship, set to take place across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Themed "United Through Coffee," this competition is set to unite coffee lovers from around the world, as talented baristas and coffee enthusiasts showcase their creativity and expertise.
With a grand prize of up to$6,000 (Sh775,000) in cash, plus additional prizes including an all-expenses-paid coffee experience trip, competitors from over 20 countries will vie for the top spot.
The challenge? To push the boundaries of flavor, technique, and presentation in crafting coffee-inspired masterpieces that capture the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
The competition kicks off with national preliminaries from August 1st to 18th, 2024, where participants across Africa will submit their digital entries.
Each submission will include a detailed recipe, a video or written preparation method, and a photo of their coffee creation— all made using DaVinci Gourmet products and Espresso.
Those who impress the judges will move on to the Africa finals in Nairobi, Kenya, on September 14th, 2024.
Here, competitors will face a series of espresso-based challenges, evaluated on technical preparation, flavor complexity, and presentation skills.
The champions from each participating country or region will then head to Singapore for the worldwide finals at the prestigious FHA HoReCa event from October 23rd to 24th, 2024.
There, the best of the best will battle it out in practical tests, latte art, and the final presentation of their signature coffee beverages, all in pursuit of the coveted title of Barista Craft Champion.
