Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has warned elected leaders to stop early politics and work for the people.

Gachagua was speaking during the burial ceremony of Mzee Gerald Gikonyo Kanyuria, Kangema, Murang'a County.

He said that some leaders are currently focused on petty politics that aren't healthy.

"I would like to request some leaders to stop what we are seeing, they are walking with sacks full of money and engaging into early politics as we continue saying that there is no money, " Gachagua said.

He noted that he is ready to listen to the people who elected him and the president.

He noted that he would always consult the people on every matter rather than concern the region.

"You are my boss and I will always listen to you and this should happen to other leaders, "he said.

He further expressed his willingness to work with President William Ruto.
