Four ODM legislators have called for thorough investigations into the death of National Intelligence Servies assistant director Tom Adala.
Adala was found dead in his home on June 4 with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly suffering from depression.
Speaking during his burial in Muhoroni on Saturday, Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi said the matter should be looked at deeply at not just left as a suicide as earlier alleged.
"For more that 15 years that I have engaged with Tom, there was no indication whatsoever that he was battling any sicknesses that I have heard people mention here and there," he said.
Also present were Onyango Koyoo (Muhoroni), Joshua Oron (Kisumu Central) and Ruth Odinga (Kisumu Women Representative).
Atandi said many people have mental problems across the world, even those within the Mathari Mental Hospital, but they don't take away their lives in the enclosed area; otherwise, there would be no allocations for it.
"This is my brother and it's my resposibility to fight for his generation, community and his children. And so I want to declare that he did not die of suicide and that is what should go out there."
Atandi said he is going to push for scientific conclusion and investigation so that they understand why he died.
Already, Parliament is set to conduct investigations into the death of Adala.
This is after the MP sought a statement from the National Assembly's Commitee on Administration and Internal Security, seeking answers on the circumstances that led to the death of the senior officer.
Oron said this was just not a death, questioning how someone who was just recently given promotion just takes away their life like that without any sickness.
"We must know what killed our brother because we don't buy into the allegations and circumstances surrounding the death."
Ruth and Koyoo also called for thorough investigations.
"I'm here because I know that Tom did not kill himself," Ruth said.
