Man found dead in bed after assault in Webuye, Bungoma

Police said the deceased was assaulted by a neighbour in the previous day.

A 52-year-old man died in his house after he had been assaulted by another man in an altercation in Namulata village, Bungoma County.

The body of Moses Mamulata Kisaka was found lying on his bed with no visible injuries, police said.

Police said the deceased was assaulted by a neighbour in an altercation the previous day.

No arrest has been made over the Saturday incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending the arrest of a known accused, police handling the matter said.

Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident in which the body of a 25-year-old man was found on the roadside in a village in Muranga County.

The body of Robert Kamande was discovered in Githige village long after he had been killed on Sunday.

Police said it was found at the border of Kigumo and Maragua and had visible injuries on the head, which appeared to have been inflicted by a sharp object and bruises on both hands and legs.

The suspected assailants were not immediately known. The body was moved to Muranga Level Five Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

And in Tabaka, Kisii County, a 23-year-old man died in a fight on the roadside.

Police said they are looking for a suspect in connection with the death of Brian Nyankieya following the June 8 incident.

The deceased is said to have been fighting with the assailant along Tabaka- Nyachenge road near Whispers pub when he fell unconscious.

Members of the public intervened and rushed him to Tabaka Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body had no visible injuries apart from bloodstains on his lower lip, police said.

The suspect escaped to an unknown destination.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

In the Matungulu area, Imenti, Meru County, the body of a woman aged 34 was found in a banana farm.

The discovery was made in Maraa village by a villager who was on his farm, police said.

The villager said he noticed the body of Judith Mukami lying on her back with a visible injury on her lower lip.

Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to Kanyakine Hospital Mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known.
