Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that he will continue reaching out to all leaders in Mt Kenya for the sake of unity .

He spoke during a church service in Buuri constituency, Meru.

He noted that the unity of the region is essential as it translates to development .

He said that a united region is better as the unity will propel leaders to work together without unnecessary fights that hinder progress.

"I'm happy that my call for unity is taking shape and I will not give up. We had counties that had issues but I'm happy that they are now working together in unity," Gachagua said .

He also denied allegations that his call for unity will make the region divided and secluded from government development.

"Recently, I heard a leader saying that the push for regional unity will make the region secluded from development, that is retrogressive politics," he said.

He noted that he is pushing for the region to unite hundred and rallied the community to rally behind President William Ruto.

He was accompanied by Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu, host MP Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), Meru Woman rep Elizabeth Kailemia, MPs Moses Kirima (Imenti Central).

Others were Abdulrahim Dawood ( Imenti North), Mpuru Aburi(Tigania East) John Paul Mwirigi ( Igembe South), Julius Taitumu (Igembe North), Daniel Karitho (Igembe Central) Jayne Kihara ( Naivasha), James Gakuya ( Embakasi North), Wachira Karani ( Laikipia West), George Koimburi (Juja), Kamande Mwafrika (Roysambu), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), Benjamin Gathiru Mejja Donk (Embakasi Central) Gachoki Gitari (Kirinyaga Central), Peter Kihungi (Kangema) among others.
