In a move to streamline the county’s infrastructure development, Governor George Natembeya has issued a directive for the swift evaluation of all road works across the county.
This initiative is aimed at facilitating seamless payment processes for contractors who have delivered quality work.
Governor Natembeya recently instructed road engineers in the county to approve all completed works promptly.
He emphasized that payments should be made only to contractors who meet the required standards and specifications.
“The reason for the instruction is to foster a more reliable and cooperative relationship between the county government and contractors,” Natembeya stated.
In line with this directive, thorough inspections are now mandated before contractors receive their payments.
The inspection committee is tasked with evaluating completed roads, assessing critical aspects such as material quality, drainage systems, and overall structural integrity.
Governor Natembeya emphasized the importance of delivering high-quality infrastructure while eliminating delays that contractors have previously faced.
He further directed the finance department to expedite payments upon successful inspection, reinforcing the commitment to quality work.
“This is a clear message to all contractors that the county government values quality and timely delivery of projects,” said Governor Natembeya.
Today, the inspection committee visited several key road projects including Sitatunga Ward roads, Bakita - Makoi road, Kplc site down - Sinyereri river road, Kwa U - Kusini road, and Sibanga and Kiriita road.
