Gachagua: Sh600m released for milk delivery to New KCC

The DP said that the government will ensure farmers are paid for their efforts.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced that the government has released Sh600 million to pay farmers delivering milk to the New KCC.

The DP said that the government will ensure farmers are paid for their efforts.

"The farmers will receive their money because we are focused on improving their lives by ensuring better pay," he said.

The government, he said, has set aside funds to purchase maize from farmers in the North Rift and the whole country.

Gachagua said the government is focused on delivering services to the people.

He said the state will continue to work closely with the Church in the implementation of the development agenda.

"The State and the Church are one. The mission hospitals run by the Catholic Church are critical in providing complementary healthcare services to the people. We will work together to improve the people's lives," he said.

The Deputy President spoke on Saturday when he attended the ordination of Rt Reverend John Kiplimo Lelei as Auxiliary Bishop of Eldoret Catholic Diocese at Mother of Apostles Seminary in Eldoret town.

The Ordination was presided over by Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya Archbishop Hurbetus Van Megen.

Gachagua Congratulated the Auxiliary Bishop Rt. Rev John Kiplimo Lelei on his Episcopal Ordination.

Among the leaders present included Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui, Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Koti Moja, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Woman Rep Gladys Boss, Host MP Julius Rutto were also present.

Others were Senators Seki Lenku (Kajiado), Samson Cherargei (Nandi), John Kisang (Elgeyo Marakwet), MPs Samuel Chepkonga (Ainabkoi), Prof. Phyllis Bartoo (Moiben), Janeth Sitienei (Turbo), David Kiplagat (Soy), Joseph Wainaina (Nominated), Julius Melly (Tinderet), Paul Biego (Chesumei), Francis Sigei (Sotik) and Maryanne Kitany (Aldai) among others.
