He said that in the next election, the Mount Kenya region will field its own candidate.

He said that by doing so, the respect of Mount Kenya must be restored noting that the interest of Mount Kenya can't be represented by an outsider.

We will be voting for our people from now on in the next election. We will have our own presidential candidate from Mt Kenya.

Waititu further petitioned Mt Kenya leaders to support the proposal for one man, one vote and one shilling.

"Uhuru meant well by bringing BBI but we let him down, this time round, we must support our candidate whether a lady or a gentleman," Waititu said.
