The government has added more hands to finish the construction and rehabilitation of the Masinde Muliro Stadium ahead of Madaraka Day celebrations.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said they sought the help of the Kenya Defence Forces to hasten the work.

"The KDF team will work with the National Youth Service to finalise the construction. They will also supervise the last section of the ongoing works,” Omollo said.

He spoke on Tuesday after a touring the stadium and was accompanied by Defence and Sports PSs Patrick Mariru and Peter Tum.

"Last week I mentioned that we had small delays with timelines. We have however made progress since then,” Omollo said.
