A fire has engulfed a two-storey building in Manyanja, Donholm.
While some tenants salvaged a few household items, no casualties have been reported.
A resident claimed that a fire brigade vehicle had first arrived with no water leading to frustration among residents who eventually chased the vehicle away.
However, a second firefighting crew has since arrived with water and is currently extinguishing the fire. A third fire engine has also arrived to help put out the fire.
The top floor of the building is completely burned.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The incident has caused a traffic snarl-up on Manyanja Road.
Vehicles from town plying Jogoo Road have been diverted to Outering Road.
