"If you haven’t passed Rironi, just use Maai Mahiu road. If you are at Flyover, use Kamwangi-Thika road,” one motorist said.

Heavy traffic was experienced the better part of Friday afternoon at Kinale Forest area near Soko Mjinga on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Reports indicated that the traffic snarl-up was caused by demonstrating residents after an accident left one dead.

“Residents have blocked the highway and traffic has snarled up. If you haven’t passed Rironi, just use Maai Mahiu road. If you are at Flyover, use Kamwangi-Thika road,” one motorist said.
The traffic had stretched all the way to almost Kikuyu town junction on the busy highway relied on by travellers from North Rift and Nyanza.
