Why Chavakali students will be in uniform at Kareh B son’s burial

Joseph Mwadulo, the 17-year-old Chavakali Boys High School student who lost his life in a terrible road accident will be buried today on Friday, April 12.

The accident happened at Mamboleo Junction in Kisumu County on April 1, 2024,

Joseph’s mother, singer Mary Wangari Gioche, alias Kareh B, revealed on Thursday evening that the late young man will be buried in Embu County.

The burial program will begin at Kenyatta University Mortuary, where mourners will assemble at around 7 a.m. before proceeding to Embu.

“We will lay him on Friday. We will bury him in Kimangaru, in Embu. We will meet at Kenyatta University Mortuary at 6.30 am so that we can give people time to arrive. We will depart from KU at around 7.30 am,” Kareh B said during a live fundraising session with Karangu wa Muraya.

The Mugithi singer revealed that many students of Chavakali High School will be among the mourners who will attend the burial in Embu.

She said the students will attend the burial in uniform to pay respect to the ‘departed soldier’.

“The students of the school (Chavakali) will come. They are saying they will come in uniform because Joe was a soldier, he was a hero, and he died in uniform,” she said.

The artist also pointed out that they intend to end the burial ceremony early to allow people to leave early, as there will be many minors at the event.

On Thursday evening, musician Karangu Muraya managed to mobilize a good number of netizens to contribute towards the burial of the late Joseph Mwadulo.

During the fundraising session, Kareh B said that they had already managed to accomplish part of the burial preparations but pointed out that there were still a lot of pending things to be catered for.

She said the budget for the burial was over Sh2 million.

Kareh B’s son, Joseph Mwadulo, lost his life on April 1, 2024, after the bus that was ferrying home and a group of students from Chavakali High School was involved in an accident at Mamboleo Junction in Kisumu County.
