Private detective Jane Mugoh is on the hunt for a woman who allegedly fled with her child from Norway without the consent of its father.

In an urgent application filed at the Milimani Law Courts, Mugoh wants the court to issue an order compelling the Director of Immigration Services-Kenya to issue a travel alert on the woman.

Also sought is an order that the Director provides passport information and travel history of the woman to enable her to effect service of the petition.

According to the court documents, the woman was married to a Norway citizen.

They were blessed with one child but they separated in 2017 in a court of law of Norway.

The court subsequently ordered the child to be under the custody of the mother.

It also allowed the father monthly visitation.

“After the court order was issued, an investigation by Interpol, Norway and Sweden indicated that the woman moved to Sweden where she applied for a passport for her son and then moved to Kenya occasionally traveling to Somalia where she has relatives,” Detective Jane alleges.

She explains she was hired as a private detective by the family in Norway to find the child in Kenya.

She is to ensure the minor is reunited with his family in Norway through a legal process.

“The father of the child and his other family members in Norway are concerned about their child who was taken from them and brought to Kenya. They are in distress as they were unlawfully separated from their child,” Jane says.

Jane claims to have written to the Director of Immigration requesting a travel alert be issued to the mother.

She also sought some information which she says would aid her company to get the whereabouts of the child and her mother.

Jane describes herself as a Detective and Chief Executive Officer.

Justice Chacha Mwita ordered the pleadings be served and responses be filed.

Further directions will be issued on April 14.
