Ruto, Gachagua enjoy music studio session in Bomet

 Away from the busy schedule of commissioning and inspecting projects, President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua found themselves in a studio in Bomet.

The duo who were accompanied by various leaders including Energy CS Davis Chirchir.

Ruto and Gachagua were at  Kones' studio in Chemomul, Bomet where they were welcomed by the owner, Joseph Kones.

Speaking in Kalenjin, Kones welcomed the President who appeared to be very excited as he smiled all through the conversation.

Ruto and Gachagua were then guided to stand behind a microphone as the song started playing in the background.

The Head of State sang along as DP Gachagua clapped and danced while smiling, an indicator that he was enjoying the Kalenjin music.

The lyrics translated into English are asking people to reflect on what they will be remembered for.

"What have you done that you will be remembered for? Act now by doing something to create a legacy that you will be remembered for because your deeds will leave a lasting impact," Ruto sang as he smiled.

The President had visited the studio after commissioning  Chemomul Rural Electrification Project in Bomet East.

He moved to connect Joseph Kones’ family home to electricity.

"We are connecting every household and business to electricity - taking into account our green energy drive - so that we can power our country’s transformation agenda," Ruto said.

The duo spent their Saturday in Bomet county where President Ruto inspected and launched various projects.

He launched the rehabilitation and upgrading of 10Km of Urban Roads in Bomet County.

The urban roads project according to Kenya Urban Roads Authority ( KURA) will enhance accessibility of people, goods and services as well as give the Town a major facelift.

 Ruto also inspected the progress of affordable housing in the county. 

The 220-unit Bomet affordable housing located in Chepalungu Constituency started in October last year.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said that the projects are all aimed at delivering the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), whose goal is to positively impact the lives of all Kenyans

"The government has prioritized making all parts of the country easily accessible through construction and upgrading of roads, which are essentially the engine of rapid development and inclusive economic growth. Sound transport infrastructure opens up every corner of the country for trade by linking producers of goods and the markets," he said.
