Username Investment appoints Sarah Wahogo as new CEO

Username Investment Limited, an award-winning real estate development and investment firm, has announced the appointment of Sarah Wahogo as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Wahogo's new appointment takes effect on March 14, 2024.

Before her appointment, Sarah was the CEO of Safaricom Investment Cooperative and previously served as a Finance Manager at Username Investment Limited.

The firm described Wahogo as a transformational leader who redefines success with vision and resilience.

Username Investment Limited Board chairman Reuben Kimani said the directors are thrilled to welcome Wahogo as the firm's new CEO. 

"We are confident that her experience, leadership skills, and strategic vision will be instrumental in driving Username towards continued success. We look forward to her valuable contributions to the organisation," Kimani said. 

The firm also described the new CEO as being very passionate about company performance, team motivation and increasing shareholders’ wealth.

Wahogo has over 18 years of experience in leadership, accounting and financial management.

In 2023, she was unveiled as one of the top ten women CEOs in the real estate sector in Kenya by Valuable Brands Kenya.

Wahogo holds a Higher National Diploma in Management Information Systems (MIS), Bachelor of Business Management degree (Finance and Banking option) from Moi University and is currently pursuing a Master in International Economics and Trade from the same institution.

She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

Wahogo is also a licentiate member of the Institute of Management of Information Systems (IMIS).

The new CEO will be replacing Kimani who transitioned to Board Chair after serving as CEO for close to a decade.

The Board of Directors expressed gratitude for Kimani's leadership and dedication which have been instrumental in Username Investments' journey.

"The Board is confident he will continue to play a vital role in shaping the company's future," the firm said. 

Wahogo will oversee Username Investments’ overall organisational strategy, financial performance, corporate governance, stakeholder management and people leadership.
