The Monday meeting involving a section of MCAs and President William Ruto at State House was reportedly not without embarrassing scenes. Some attendants were apparently unable to properly use cutlery during meals, resulting in plates falling and soiling the clothing of some guests. Others reportedly stuffed too much on small plates while some went for multiple rounds. Maybe a crash course on basic etiquette for county waheshimiwa should be seriously considered.

Still on power meetings, was a recent one between senior figures from the two political divides strained and awkward? Anecdotal reports by body language nitpickers in the meeting say the bosses leading the meeting did not shake hands and strenuously avoided eye contacts. The air was tense, although some plastic smiles were afforded for the cameras at the tail end of the rendezvous. As the Haiti police mission is ramped up, numerous officers, some of them in senior decision-making ranks, are confiding their fears to Corridors of Power. They claim they have not got any considerable training to lead the mission in the violent, gang-ridden South American country. From language to terrain of the country to minuscule technical capacity, the cops claim their bosses are tossing them to harm’s way. They say mass resignation is on the table if the situation becomes untenable.
