Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has stated that there will be no handshake government with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking during an interview on Sunday, Kalonzo said the National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) report shouldn't be mistaken for the formation of a coalition government.

"Hakuna serikli ya nusu mkate. Nadco ni ya kujaribu kuleta usawa katika nchi yetu. Na mimi nimekabidhi Raila na Ruto a peaceful document. wakitaka kuharibu ni shauri yao.

This loosely translates to: There is no handshake government. Nadco is all about bringing equality to our country. I have handed Raila and Ruto a peaceful document and if they want to ruin it, it's their problem.

Kalonzo highlighted that it was Raila and Ruto who came up with the Nadco idea of creating a dialogue committee and entrusted him to co-chair the team alongside National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah.

The National Dialogue Committee last Friday presented its report to President William Ruto and Azimio One Kenya Leader Raila Odinga.

The 10-member team led by Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka met with Raila at his Capital Hill office in Upperhill and later met with President Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

The presentation came a day after a joint House Committee agreed on timelines to submit the report to both houses within the next 45 days for the House to adopt and debate.

The House team led by George Murugara and Hillary Sigei said they will propose either a parliamentary route or a referendum to enact eight proposed bills to implement the NADCO report.

NADCO co-chairs Kalonzo and MP Ichung'wah expressed optimism that the document will make the country move forward.
