Siaya Governor James Orengo has appointed three new board directors of Siaya Bondo Water and Sanitation Company (SIBOWASCO).
The governor appointed Steve Oyucho, Rosella Njaya and Victor Makanda to the Board on Sunday.
Oyucho is an experienced Banker who has risen through the ranks to the level of Regional Manager.
Rosella, the former First Lady of Siaya, brings rich experience in Communications having served in the Ministry of Water in National Government for a long time.
Makanda has served as a Principal in various high schools and is currently the Principal of St Mary's Yala.
The three will serve on the Board for a period of three years effective February 9, 2024.
Other candidates interviewed but were unsuccessful were Charles Oduor Ogada, Dan Adino, Fredrick Okoth, Hellen Akinyi Otieno, Caren Atieno Oluoch.
Danstan Ajulu, Pius Opiyo Owaga, Zainabu Mohammed were also interviewed.
The new Board members were picked through a competitive process conducted by an Ad-hoc Nominating Committee for selection of Candidates for Directorship positions appointed by Orengo in October last year.
The Committee was chaired by Debra Otieno while its members included CEC for Water, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Jaqueline Oduol, County Secretary Joseph Ogutu and Ambassador Frost Edwin Josiah.
Others were Linda Ogutu, Mathews Omondi Oluoch and CPA Adipo Isaiah as the Secretary.
