Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has dismissed any claims of a tiff between him and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kuria during an interview with KTN said that they have a rich history with the DP which cannot allow them to be at 'war'.

"There can be no distinction there. I think people are reading too much. I am not under attack from anyone. The Deputy President and I have come from long way," he said on Monday.

Narrating his relationship with DO Gachagua, Kuria said that he once campaigned for him in Nyeri when they were all under the Jubilee Party.

By then, Gachgaua was seeking a parliamentary seat for Mathira Constituency and Kuria was going for re-election in the Gatundu South seat in Kiambu.

After the general elections in 2017, CS Kuria said at one point he was Gachagua's boss while at the National Assembly.

"When he (Gachagua) was elected he found me in my second term in Parliament and at one point I was his boss. That was when I was the Vice-chair of the Transport Committee at the National Assembly where he served as one of my members," the CS explained.

Looking back, Kuria said that they campaigned with DP Gachagua, did a lot of work and at the same time claimed to have suffered a lot from the previous regime.

Revealing another common factor between him and the Deputy President, CS Kuria said that they both have the interest of Mt Kenya people and the Kenya Kwanza government.

"The Deputy President has got the interests of the people of Mt Kenya at heart and so do I," he said.

"I also have the interest of the Kenya Kwanza government at heart there can be a distinction neither at the national government level nor the regional level and that cannot be an argument," Kuria added.

Last month, the CS also said that  Gachagua was his good friend contrary to what critics have been claiming.

Kuria said Gachagua has done his role so well as a deputy and they get along well.

"The deputy president, who is also my boss is my good friend and we get along so well, our cabinet is so efficient because of him," he said.
