Interior PS Raymond Omollo has called on Kenyans to turn up in large numbers for the 60th Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday.

Speaking on Sunday during an inspection tour at Uhuru Gardens, Omollo said preparations ahead of the day are complete with the final touches expected to be done tomorrow.

The PS said a total of 30,000 people are expected to attend the celebrations with at least three Heads of State expected to be present.

"We have made adequate security arrangements and starting today until after the celebrations this ground will be secured by our brothers from KDF as well as the national police service for purposes of ensuring that we have a successful event," Omollo said.

He said the security deployment is in place for the rest of the city as well as the entire country.

He said the finals of the Talanta Hela football tournament that has been going on will happen at Nyayo Stadium on the same day in the afternoon.

"We are expecting 30,000 seated Kenyans across the garden. Already the seats are being set up, as we stand here a total of 12,000 seats have already been arranged. By tomorrow we will have arranged all the 30,000 seats. Of course, there is room for excess and adequate security arrangements have been put in place and will be able to take care of that," the PS noted.
