Lawyer Danstan Omari with parents and students of Kitengela International School and Set Green Hill mixed academy in Kisii address the media after they filed a petition seeking orders to remark the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and stopping form one selection exercise on November 27, 2023.

Lawyer Danstan Omari now says that President William Ruto must do certain things differently if he wants to achieve his vision for the country.

According to Omari, the President needs to first of all do away with the people around him.

He insisted that the people around the President will not help cannot help him get to his goals and should be let go of and bring onboard a proactive team.

"The people around the president cannot help him achieve his vision and he must completely discard them and bring people who are proactive," Omari said during an interview with K24.

The lawyer said President William Ruto was becoming a captive of Western nations and it's time he rethinks his relations with them.

He said former President Mwai Kibaki (late) ran away from them and so should Ruto.

"Kibaki ran away from them... we have embraced wholesomely their policies.

"The president is becoming captive of the West."

They cited the increment of the Value Added Tax on petroleum products from 8 per cent to 16 per cent, at the demand of the International Monetary Fund.

Omari said it was time Ruto relooked at his association with the West and came up with a way for the country to generate its own resources and manage the resources prudently.

Omari added that it is time for local solutions to the challenges the country is facing.

"The issue of management, and spending is a Kenyan issue and parliament can help."

Earlier, Omari had said that Ruto is a better president compared to all who have come before him, but he has failed to stop looting in his administration.

"The only problem is the usage of this money. Kibaki raised revenue and completely sealed the leakages for that money. No coin could be stolen under the watch of Kibaki," Omari said.

He insisted that because of this, the biggest problem Kenyans are currently facing, the cost of living cannot be addressed.
