A woman who had been employed in a liquor shop has been charged with stealing alcoholic drinks worth Sh7,233,919.
Margret Wanjiku Ruguru was charged before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where she pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the charge sheet, the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between January 1 and August 13 at an unknown time at Highbury Liquor Shop.
The shop is located along 14 Riverside Drive in Kileleshwa within Nairobi County.
The court heard that she committed the offence alongside others, not before the court.
The stock belonged to Purity Kinya Mutheee who is the complainant in the case.
The prosecution did not object to her release on bond.
The magistrate released her on a Sh200,000 cash bail with the surety of a similar account.
The matter will be mentioned this month.
