President William Ruto will today open the African Regional Organization of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-Africa).

The conference will be held at Safari Park Hotel.

ITUC-Africa is a pan-African trade union organisation created in November 2007 following the merger of two former African trade union organisations.

It represents trade unions from countries in Africa.

There are 56 national trade union federations affiliated with ITUC-Africa, from 45 countries, and representing a total of 15 million workers.

High Court to deliver verdict on Finance Act, 2023

A three bench of Justices David Majanja, Christine Meoli and Lawrence Mugambi sitting in Nairobi will deliver the verdict on the petitions that were challenging the Finance Act 2023.

Petitioner over KCPE results

A petitioner has moved to the court contesting the use of the recently released KCPE results for Form One placement.

Magare Gikenyi argued that the results are full of errors which will disadvantage the placement of the 2023 KCPE candidates.

He asked the court to suspend the placement awaiting the hearing and determination of the application.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will today officially open the 17th Annual Kenya Institute of Planners Convention.

The meeting will take happening at Diani Reef in Kwale.

Bitok to chair the National Consultative Forum 

Immigration PS Julius Bitok is set to chair the National Consultative Forum on the Global 2023 Refugee Forum at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.

The aim is to discuss among others the social-economic inclusion of refugees in Kenya within host communities.

He will then hold a media briefing.

35th commemoration of World AIDS Day

US Global AIDS Coordinator and Senior Bureau Official for Global Health Security and Diplomacy, Ambassador-at-Large John Nkengasong to discuss the 35th commemoration of World AIDS Day and 20 years of the global health impact through the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the future of the HIV/AIDS response.

Miano to appear before a Senate committee 

Trade Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano will today appear before a Senate committee to provide a brief on the quantities of edible oils, rice, maize and sugar imported since January.

The CS will also answer questions on the role of Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC) in addressing the high consumer prices for essential commodities.

Germany to unveil Kenya’s green and digital innovation hub

Germany is set to unveil Kenya’s green and digital innovation hub aimed at supporting MSMEs in the country.

The hub will provide MSMEs and start-ups with access to technology and innovation resources.
