After days of speculations, Kisii Deputy Governor Robert Monda on Monday confirmed the alleged fallout with his boss Simba Arati.

Monda in an exclusive interview with the Star claimed that the lack of a clear development agenda for the County set them on a collision course.

"My sin was that I interrogated if there is any clear agenda for our people away from rhetoric which we had been feeding them since we came into office," Monda told the Star Monday evening by phone.

According to Monda, dissent was building up against them for not being keen on development.

"We had promised our people heaven yet we have not yet started a project to show for that up to now," he said.

"I don't want my soul to sink with him."

He said he was brave enough to fight his political battles when push comes to shove.

"There is absolutely nothing wrong when I stand to seek clarification from him if we are united for any big and solid purpose for our people," the Deputy County boss stated.

Monda spoke after a section of residents from his Nyaribari backyard dared him to resign for 'scuttling his boss' development agenda by collaborating with United Democratic Alliance party leaders from Kisii.

On Sunday, the Deputy Governor kicked off a fierce storm after hosting  Governor Arati's fiercest critics for dinner.

The politicians consisted of Senator Richard Onyonka, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and Woman Rep Donya Toto.

Other leaders were MPs Daniel Manduku, an ODM legislator who had since warmed his way to the government, DA Party National Treasurer Japhet Nyakundi and Ward Reps, many whom have abandoned ODM posts.

During the press conference, the residents said Monda's move did not enjoy their blessings.

"As a people from Nyaribari we still support the Governor and his agenda for our people," said a statement read to the press.

But speaking to the Star, Monda said he has already suffered enough agony under his boss and has no regrets nor apology to make.

"It is not for nothing that I have made this decision, there had been soul searching and now that his foot soldiers are fighting me, my mind is set," the Deputy Governor told the Star.

He accused his boss of spending too much time punching shadows at the expense of doing development.

"There is no single - ongoing or stalled - project I can pinpoint even in my own political backyard. None. What else can I stand to tell my people? To feed them one lie after another?" Monda said.

Arati is yet to give his response regarding the divorce by his deputy.

The Governor will be hosting ODM leader Raila Odinga for a thanksgiving event in Nyamache today.

Raila's visit comes at a time when two rival camps are battling out in Kisii County.
