More bills are set to be brought before Parliament as Kenya Kwanza Government aims to continue delivering its manifesto.

This was agreed during a Parliamentary Group meeting on Tuesday at State House which was chaired by President William Ruto.

Some of the proposed laws and regulations include Bills on conflict of interest, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism financing, and new regulations on public debt management.

Without giving an actual date, the petition on sending Kenyan mission to Haiti will also be tabled before Parliament.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki had earlier made it clear that  Kenya police would be deployed to Haiti only if Parliament approves.

He noted that the request by the United Nations had to first be approved by both the National Assembly and Senate as per the requirement of the constitution.

"The request by the United Nations Security Council for the deployment of Police officers to Haiti will be subject to Parliamentary approval. Article 240 of the Constitution requires Parliament to approve the deployment of security forces to any peacekeeping mission in foreign nations," Kindiki said.

Ruto hosted more than 200-member Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting at State House, Nairobi.

They were led by his  Deputy President Rigathì Gachagua, Majority Leaders Kìmani Ichùng'wa (National Assembly) and Aaron Cheruiyot (Senate).

Going further, President William Ruto commended parliament for a sterling job in the enactment of the Finance Act, the four laws that will anchor the Universal Health Care programme and the amendments to Privatisation Act, among others.

"Parliament has been very crucial in supporting the government's national development agenda," he said.

The role of the National Government Constituency Development Fund was also discussed at the meeting.

This was in relation to the role the fund will play in tree planting and environmental conservation in general, the setting up of digital hubs in every ward and the construction of extra classrooms in Junior School.
