The Kenya National Highways Authority has cautioned motorists plying the Meru - Mikinduri - Maua (B102) Road of a second landslide.
KeNHA on Friday announced the advisory following a landslide which ended up covering a section of the road.
In a statement, KeNHA said the second landslide occurred on the road on Saturday morning.
"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify and caution motorists plying Meru - Mikinduri - Maua (B102) Road of a second landslide that occurred in the aforementioned road section earlier today," the statement read.
According to the Authority, the affected area, near Maua town, is currently impassable and this is attributed to the substantial rainfall in the region.
KeNHA advised motorists to use alternate routes, to and from Maua town.
"The KeNHA team is actively on-site working diligently to clear the road and ensure the safety of all motorists. Further updates will be provided in due course."
