Police on Monday evening recovered 26 sacks of bhang in Ongata Rongai town.

The bhang's street value is estimated at Sh6,240,000.

Kajiado North subcounty police commander, Abduba Hussein, said the police acted on a tip-off from the members of the public.

Hussein said the substances were recovered alongside one carcass of a goat that two suspects had slaughtered.

He said the suspects, who were arrested, are followers of a local church christened African B Divine Church.

“The two had slaughtered a goat belonging to one Jessie Muthiga Albert of The exhibits were found stored in the said local church,” said the police commander.

He said the two suspects were rescued from the angry members of the public who had subjected them to mob injustice.

“The two were rushed to Saitoti Hospital in Ongata Rongai, where they were admitted in serious condition,” the local police boss said.

He said the matter has been taken over by Ongta Rongai DCI for investigation.
