DCI summons Mavoko MP, ex-police bosses over Portland saga

Three Registrars of Land have also been summoned to record a statements.

The Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin has summoned 30 individuals among them Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and former police bosses over the Portland Cement land saga.

In a statement on Tuesday, Amin said the individuals are among people the DCI believes have information that may assist with investigations.

 "These individuals are hereby directed to report to the officer in charge of Land Fraud Investigations Unit at DCI Headquarters tomorrow, October 18 at 8am," Amin said.

Registrars of Land Charles Ngetich, S.C Njoroge and G.G Gachihi have also been summoned to record a statement.

Others are former deputy county Commissioners in Mavoko David Juma, Geoffrey Omondi, Charles Wambugu and Chief, Athi River Location Cecilia Nzioka.

Former DCIO officers Joseph Mumira, Martin Korongo and Vincent Kipkorir have also been summoned alongside three former Mavoko OCPDs.

These are Kizito Mutoro, Sharma Wario and Samuel Mukuusi.

Directors of Nyambogi Society, members of Kitanda na Mbusya Society and officials of Aimi Ma Lukenya Society are also required to appear at the DCI for grilling.

Lukenya officials include Jonathan Muinde (Organizing secretary), JUlius Mutua (chairman), Pascal Kiseli (Treasurer), and secretary Alex Kyalo Mutemi.

Other individuals are Mutua Kathungu, Wilson Munguti, Ben Muemi, Omar Shurie, Ben Mulei, Nichodemus Mulei, Anthony Muthoka, Titus Munywoki, Philip Kilonzo and Chris Ougo.

Evictions on the Portland cement land started on Friday last week after a court ruling that it belonged to the cement grinder.

The court struck out a petition filed ten years ago saying the petitioners failed to physically serve amended pleadings to all Defendants within 21 days as ordered by the Court on May 17, 2023.
