Outgoing Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has highlighted his achievements in the docket.

Kuria has been serving in the Trade docket for the past 11 months and 6 days.

However, earlier this week when President William Ruto did his first reshuffle, Kuria was moved to the Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management ministry.

On Saturday, in a statement on X, formerly Twitter Kuria shared a poster of his 12 most notable achievements at the Trade docket.

The poster had the caption ‘Veni, Vidi, Vici,’ a Latin phrase that translates to ‘I came, I saw, I conquered.’

During his tenure, the CS noted he managed to launch industrial parks in 13 counties and initiated critical agreements, including the Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union.

Kuria also said that he implemented the exports and promotion levy to discourage unnecessary imports and introduced a pipeline of 26 mega deals from the Gulf region and Indonesia.

Other achievements include introducing a pipeline of 26 Mega Deals with the Gulf Region and Indonesia, and successfully negotiating a substantial Ksh450 Billion investment from Afriexim Bank in E-Mobility, Special Economic Zones, and Export Processing Zones.

The CS also noted that he played a pivotal role in Kenya's accession to the Pan African Payment and Settlement System.

Kuria further said he championed African integration by advocating for the unification of the East African Community (EAC), Southern African Development Community (SADC), and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) under the Tripartite Free Trade Agreement.

The CS also revealed that he twice hosted the African Continental Free Trade Area Trade Ministers Council in the same year, initiated the implementation of a Warehouse Receipt System and Commodities Exchange, and began the creation of a Kenya International Trade Agency to promote Kenyan exports globally.

After the cabinet reshuffle, Kuria warned his political opponents not to celebrate his transfer from the Ministry of Trade to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery, saying his new role has a wider reach.

Speaking in Garissa County where he launched the construction of an industrial park, Kuria used the occasion to warn people, who he did not name, against trying to get him sacked.

“I am now in charge of public service and performance and even if I could have been transferred to the gender ministry, I could have accepted the same and worked very well. I will work as hard as I did in the ministry before I left,” he said.
