Police are holding a 62-year-old man who slashed and killed his 12-year-old son in a domestic quarrel in a village in Narok.

Police said the incident happened at the weekend in Kipendeni village within Olengape location.

The assailant used a panga to attack his son slashing him in the head several times, witnesses and police said.

Police said they are yet to establish what triggered the cold-blood murder but suspect domestic fighting.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.

The suspect was arrested ahead of the planned arraignment on Monday, September 25.

Elsewhere in Ndunyu, Kinangop area, a man killed his wife in a domestic fight, police said.

Police said the incident happened in Mandaras sub-location.

The couple had been fighting in their house before residents rushed to establish what was happening.

Both the man and woman were found with serious cut wounds.

The woman identified died while being attended to at a local hospital while the man was admitted in serious condition.

The two stayed in a rental house at the local shopping centre.

Police who visited the scene said they recovered a blood-stained panga and a knife from the scene.

The man had deep cuts in the head and throat by the time police arrived at the scene.

Police handling the matter said they are yet to establish what prompted the fighting.

Police are also holding a 40-year-old suspect over the murder of another man in a suspected love triangle in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado.

Police had to save the suspect from an irate mob.

The suspect had been cornered by a mob, which was stoning him before police intervened and saved him.

Police say they are still monitoring his recovery progress in hospital before they interrogate him for possible arraignment for murder.
