Azimio spokesperson Makau Mutua hit out at Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula for what he termed as 'ethnic' politics.
This is after Karua and embattled Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni fronted a new political outfit called 'Kamwene Leadership Forum'.
Kioni said the outfit is for everyone from the Mt Kenya region.
Mutua noted that the duo and Wetang'ula were rallying Kenyans into regions hence promoting ethnocentrism.
"Sad to see senior folks like Wetang'ula of Kenya Kwanza and Martha Karua of Narc Kenya retreat to their ethnic cocoons. Karua is now in Kamwene, a kikuyu outfit and Wetangula is calling for Luhya ethnocentrism," he said.
"Have they abandoned the Kenya Nation as a realistic idea?" Makau posed.
While defending the new Kamwene outfit, Kioni said it has always been holding meetings and it was now his turn to host them at the Jubilee offices.
He said the outfit has had many meetings some at Narc Kenya just that it was the Jubilee party's turn to host the members this past week.
"We are in Azimio. Azimio is very intact and I'm sure it is more intact than many would want to believe or would be happy to hear," he said.
Kioni explained that Kamwene means "talking about your own issues; sisi kwanza tuongee yetu kabla kupeleka korokoro zetu kwa wengine (We talk about our issues first before we take them to other people)."
He said people are moving away from the ruling party but are joining the Opposition outfit and one of the ways they are giving the people direction is through the Kamwene Leadership Forum.
However, Kioni insisted that the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance remains intact.
While calling for the Luyha region to come together, Wetang’ula stated that the region's unity was not an option, saying it must count.
He called out the leaders who he said are "sowing seeds of discord" between him and Mudavadi.
"Musalia and I are working together and we will not allow and negative voices to divide us," he said.
"Our collective vision has enabled us to so far reshape the political landscape, forging a new trajectory together," he added.
