First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka have appealed to Kenyans to unite and work together.

Speaking separately after Sunday fellowship, the duo quoted Bible verses which they referenced to encourage Kenyans to remain steadfast in believing in God as they prepare to start the week.

Kalonzo who said he attended the Sunday service at the Independent Presbyterian Church (IPC) in Mwingi town, quoted Matthew 19: 27-30, a parable by Jesus.

"Many who are first will be last, and the last first," the verse says.

"As we begin a new week, let us all put aside pride and privilege and earnestly work towards the wholesome betterment of all our fellow Kenyans," Kalonzo added.

On her part, the First Lady quoted Ezekiel 34: 25-27 saying that God's covenant of peace brings not only safety but also abundant blessings.

"I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of savage beasts so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety. I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing," the verse says.

It adds: "The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them."

Mama Rachel said that God promises to shower Kenyans with his blessings in due season and urged Kenyans to hold onto His deep assurance.

"We are His treasured children and He lavishes us with His unfailing love and protection. May you be inspired to find peace and abundance in God's presence today and always."
