In Summary

  • And if they disagree on issues let the disagreement be amicable without degenerating to fist fight.
  • The ball is now in the teams court to find a solution to some of the issues raised by Kenyans and ensure that the nation forges ahead.

It has been 23 days since bipartisan talks was legally established and entrenched.

The team initially looked promising, based on how they moved with speed to form a technical committee and received presentations from stakeholders.

However what transpired on Thursday does not inspire any confidence that the bipartisan talks is heading anywhere.

The team could not agree on any issues and ended up engaging in a near violent standoff.

The members of the talks team from both sides need to realise the task they are mandated to undertake is for the interest of Kenya and not their individual egos.

What the members of the talks need to bear in mind is that challenges will be there but they need to snap out of self absorption of who is important amongst them and put Kenya and peoples needs first.

What this means is for them to soldier on and ensure that the talks do not collapse.

Give peace a chance because chaos and demonstrations will not benefit anyone especially at a time when the economy is on its knees and Kenyans are barely affording basic needs.

As leaders in their own rights each member of the talks team must view this as a duty to the nation and not an avenue to settle scores.

The team must view the issues tabled before them with an open mind, look beyond current political situation in the nation and come up with something that Kenyans will be proud of.

And if they disagree on issues let the disagreement be amicable without degenerating to fist fight.

The ball is now in the teams court to find a solution to some of the issues raised by Kenyans and ensure that the nation forges ahead.
