Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has affirmed that the central region is still as united as before.
He maintained that his job was to help President William Ruto lead the country and unite the region.
"We are united in this region, you just see us yet you don't know more about us. We are one people and as long as our interests are threatened we are one," he said.
The DP added that the government is still intact and they have no problems at the moment.
"This community, I mobilised you to vote for Ruto and I have only two jobs, to help the President lead the country forward and to unite and guide the interest of Mount Kenya region. That is my job description and I know my job. I don't need anybody to tell me. It is well cut out and I understand it."
Gachagua who spoke on Friday during the burial of freedom fighter Muthoni wa Kirima in Nyeri said assumptions that he was embroiled in a tussle with Trade CS Moses Kuria were a creation of the media.
This was after Kuria's remarks towards Kenyans on fuel prices were criticised by many including the DP himself.
"I saw the newspaper people writing yesterday that there is a problem on the mountain (Mt Kenya) that I might fight with Moses Kuria. I'm Deputy President this is our worker, so can the employer fall out with his employee," he said.
The DP repeated the remarks on Saturday during the burial of Mama Teresia Wangechi, mother of Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi at Kiandege, Ndaragwa Constituency in Nyandarua County.
He asked Mount Kenya leaders to distance themselves from government critics saying the government would do everything to sort out problems that arise.
Gachagua said he knows the cost of fuel has gone up but the causes are beyond government's control.
He asked Kenyans to be patient as they look for ways to sort out the fuel crisis.
"The issue of fuel cost is a worldwide problem brought about by Russia Ukraine war among other issues. When you compare prices in Africa and the World, Kenya prices are the lowest," he said.
